Art in Motion was the title of the latest (selling) exhibition of the British artist Dexter Brown, held in London from the 16th to 27th February 2015. The prestigious one–man show was held at the New Bond Street auction rooms of Bonhams auctioneers.
The exhibition was collaboration between Robert Brooks, Chairman of Bonhams, sponsor John McLagen and Combat Stress, the mental health charity for veteran service people. Generously half the proceeds of any sale will be given to the charity.
The theme of the exhibition was Faces, Film and Television which comprised a collection of 65 works that depicted not only the actors but the vehicles that helped drive the motion pictures to success. There was also a section entitled The Drivers, The Vehicles and Their Founders. To a large extent the collection was based on portraits with backgrounds of vehicles, motorcycles, or bicycles in the case of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
